Objectives
The Grand Valley Kennel Club was founded in 1965 in Grand Junction, Colorado. We are an all-breed dog club licensed by the American Kennel Club.

To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs

To do all in our power to protect and advance the interest of all breeds of purebred dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, agility, obedience & rally trials

To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, agility, rally, and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club

To abide by the AKC rules and regulations governing dog shows, agility trials, rally, and obedience trials
Organization
Membership includes people who are involved in breeding, showing, service and performance events, as well as those whose dogs are cherished family members. There are currently 35 members.

The Club is governed by its Constitution and Bylaws. The club is a registered nonprofit, tax exempt organization. Officers are elected for 2-year terms and include President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, plus 3 members-at-large who comprise a Board of Directors. The immediate Past-President and current show chairperson are included as non-voting members of the Board. Standing committees include Show, Membership and Newsletter. Task Forces and Ad Hoc committees are formed as needed.
